After seeing the design of the CherryWagon project, the owner of the land behind it asked us to develop a concept for a speculative office building. The adjacency of these two buildings allowed us to create something unusual in a suburban retail district – an architecturally coordinated urban experience. Using similar materials and motifs as the coffeeshop, we developed a building with a south-facing two-story circulation “porch” that provided both shade and access. The concept was then handed off to an associated architecture office who produced the construction documents for the project.
