One of the artifacts of starting a new office is that the first round of projects are track along one another through the process of design, documentation and construction.  Currently we have five projects under construction, including the Keystone School Central Quad, which had a major concrete pour this week.

Even though the end product of our efforts is something that is profoundly real, as architects we primarily deal with abstractions of reality.  For example we don't actually build anything - we produce drawings that other entities then use to construct buildings.  And so when lines on a page suddenly become 160 tons of concrete pumped overhead and onto a site, it can feel quite extraordinary.

Extraordinary and terrifying.
